We aim not just to trace your family tree but to bring your ancestors to life by finding where they lived and the jobs they did through periods of great social and technological change. Would you like to know who lived with them? Families of ten or twelve including extended family, servants and lodgers were not unusual. Did they work for the great houses as butlers, gamekeepers, housekeepers or indeed were they above stairs! Perhaps they served their King and country… Peninsular Wars, The Crimea, Boer War, World War I. Perhaps they sailed as emigrants to Australia, New Zealand or America. Did they serve in India and latterly throughout the commonwealth undertaking consular/embassy duties etc. Maybe they helped rule the Empire! Many records exist.

For £30 you will receive two hours of family history research work. In many cases two hours work could trace your direct family line as far back as 1851 (and some siblings of your direct ancestors). This is dependant on your current family history knowledge and the quality of entries in the various information resources we use.
When work is complete you will receive by post a diagram of your family tree and also extensive notes and copies of any archive pages that have been found. Please note if you live outside the UK, a small additional charge may apply to cover postage costs.
If we cannot find anything about your family history there will be no charge.
In many cases UK family history can be traced back to the late 18th century. Some families can be traced much further. Additional research can be conducted at a rate of £20 per hour.
Many genealogy resources require costly subscriptions. We have already paid for the subscriptions so that you don't have to. The only exception is in the case that you may wish to have (or where it becomes necessary to obtain) certificates of births, marriages or deaths. These are available at a cost of £8 per certificate. We will of course discuss with you in full the need for and research value of any such certificates before any are ordered.
In order to conduct your research we will need as much information as you already know about your family. The more information you can supply, the less research time will be required and the cheaper it is for you. It would be helpful if as much of the following information could be supplied as possible for at least your parents and grandparents (and further back if known). It is not usually a problem if some information is missing.
